Building together for the common good
We have always worked for the common good and the development of the territory, in over 30 years of philanthropic activity and in the wake of the tradition that traces the Foundation back to the birth of the Cassa di Risparmio in Bologna, back in 1837.
Renewing our original mission to make it even closer to the challenges of our time, adopting the most modern tools of institutional philanthropy, we have oriented our strategic plans to the action programme of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
We are committed to actively promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which provide a rigorous and internationally agreed methodological framework, focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals that are most recurrent in the projects we support while caring for the community.
Our commitment to the common good continues to focus on 3 major transversal and interconnected areas, articulated in 6 operational missions, interpreting the 2030 Agenda Goals as a guide to building a more equitable and sustainable future, putting the well-being of people and the protection of the environment at the centre.
PEOPLE
Missions: Supporting social inclusion, Becoming a community
We work to combat poverty and social inequality through assistance and inclusion programmes targeting the most vulnerable people. This commitment translates into supporting initiatives that provide essential services such as access to basic goods, housing and healthcare for low-income families and disadvantaged groups.
We promote social inclusion at every level, regardless of age, gender, different abilities or economic conditions. The projects we support promote access to essential resources and services for all, especially the most vulnerable segments of the population, and focus on welfare and assistance interventions contributing to building a more equitable and inclusive society.
CULTURE
Missions: Creating attractiveness, Encouraging active participation
We believe in art as a common good. We promote accessibility to culture for all, in the protection and enhancement of the historical and artistic heritage of the city of Bologna, supporting the creation of new cultural routes to attract new audiences and encouraging the creation of specific tourism promotion programmes.
We facilitate encounters between different realities and encourage their cooperation, stimulating the pluralism of artistic expressions and the liveliness of cultural offerings, languages, and modes of communication with particular regard to the visual arts.
TERRITORIAL DEVELOPMENT
Missions: Enhancing research and accelerating innovation, Stimulating human capital formation
Through funding schools, universities and training programmes, we aim to innovate times, processes, methods and spaces of education for the improvement of the quality of educational provision, encouraging inclusive and quality education for youth growth and ensuring that access to education is equitable and free of socio-economic barriers.
By supporting professional development projects, we stimulate interdisciplinarity and interaction with the world of work to foster the creation of decent and inclusive work, both by accommodating people in difficulty and disadvantaged groups, and by reducing unemployment, especially among young people who are neither employed nor in education or training.
We contribute to the development of technological innovation and the competitiveness of research centres, working in the fields of welfare, ecological transition and health protection by supporting sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives. We foster scientific and technological research and environmental protection in order to generate a positive impact on the territory and society, aiming to create an ecosystem that combines technological progress and innovation with social responsibility.
